What's Next?
Update - September 2015Thanks to hard working volunteers, generous donors, and the Grace of Jesus, we were able to start the 2015-16 school year at the new property. Although we are here, there is still a lot of work to be done! Follow Seguin Christian Academy on Facebook for the latest information.
Update - February 2015As we excitedly plan for the future of SCA, we are learning that the building process is quite a process! However, we have the peace that comes from knowing that in God's time, everything will be done! Watch for our upcoming Capital Campaign; however, if you are ready to help SCA get started, we have established a Building Fund and are accepting donations specifically for that purpose. August 1, 2014On August 1, 2014, Allison Haeussler received a phone call from the Stephen and Mary Birch Foundation telling her the Foundation would like to donate some property to the school. This wasn't just any property; it was 12.6 acres in an ideal location for the school.
The property is just off the 123 Bypass and extends along Hwy 90 East (E. Kingsbury St.) down to Geronimo Creek, across from the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. The property includes a 2600 sq ft house, an efficiency apartment, a large hay barn, and plenty of room for playgrounds, additional buildings, athletic fields and more. The property had originally been listed by Eve Hiner and Fanny Harkins of Karen McMillan/Texas Heritage Properties for almost $400,000. These ladies put the needs of the school above their own and helped influence the Foundation's decision to donate the property to the school. In doing so, they gave up a potential commission of almost $10,000! |
